President
Libby Leffler
After a year as our marvelous Secretary, Libby is now the President of the Spinsters of San Francisco! Libby grew up in Modesto, California with her close-knit family, and graduated from UC Berkeley with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, where she served as the President of Delta Delta Delta for two years. You will often find Libby lost in Neiman’s, reliving her competitions in Miss California and Miss Teen California pageants on Union Street, en route to a fabulous party, or cheering for the Giants at a home game. Her favorite Spinster event is the glorious Annual Ball, where Libby feels right at home in her ball gown and glass of champagne in hand, circulating amongst our amazing membership.
Vice President
Liz Brusca
For the second year in a row, Liz is our Vice President, eagerly planning all of Spinsters' celebrated charity events. Liz grew up in Eureka, California and attended San Francisco State University, majoring in Fashion Design and Textiles, with a minor in Marketing Liz loves San Francisco for the eclectic group of people, food, neighborhoods, and social events, many of which she has organized or planned herself! Liz has just too many fabulous memories to choose from in her six years in Spinsters—from swimming in the in-door pool at the Grotto party, to her many amazing outfits at our events, Liz is always having fun and looking great!
Secretary
Ashley Hayes
Ashley grew up in sunny San Diego, where she traded the waterpolo ball for books at UC Berkeley, majoring in Political Science and History (as a fourth generation Cal grad and sixth generation Californian, she always knew she would be a Golden Bear!). She joined Spinsters soon after graduating, alongside several of her Delta Delta Delta sorority sisters, and has greatly enjoyed her last three years with the Spinsters! Her favorite things in San Francisco include the hot Indian summers, the numerous street fairs, Bay to Breakers, Washington Square Park, Balboa burgers, DCW, S Factor, Lyon Steps, sailing to Sam’s, happy hours on the patio at Americano, liquid lunches and champagne dinners. Ashley’s favorite Spinsters memory is wine tasting in Napa at a Prospective Member event in 2006, as she met so many amazing women that she is honored to call dear friends now—some of which she serves on the Board with now!
Treasurer
Marlene Smith
Marlene grew up in the East Bay, making an easy transition to California State University, Hayward, majoring in Accounting & Finance—clearly anticipating her position as Treasurer of Spinsters! She adores living in San Francisco for the beautiful views, cosmopolitan life and unique diversity. Marlene’s favorite Spinsters memory is dancing so hard at the Holiday Ball in 2007, even though she broke her ribs in the process! Ouch! You will often find Marlene reading, traveling and hiking in SF and the Bay Area.
Membership Director
Danielle van Asch Prevot
Danielle grew up in Millbrae, California, whereupon she headed south to graduate from UC Irvine, majoring in Theater and Women’s Studies. She loves living in San Francisco, especially with her avid participation in Spinsters, Junior League and Team in Training—how on earth this busy gal has the time, no one knows! She loves to run the hills of San Francisco, admiring the incredible views our beautiful city offers. Danielle’s goal for 2009 is to maintain an unsupported handstand for ten full seconds—feel free to offer her any advice you can on this fun trick!
Charity Director
Kristina Salcido
Kristina is the oldest of seven (a true leader!) and she grew up in Laguna Beach, California before moving to Cincinnati, Ohio. She attended college in the Bay Area, is a Delta Gamma alumna and graduate of Santa Clara University. You will often find Kristina sampling the many fine foods the city has to offer, as well as dancing, skiing and traveling. Kristina served on the Board last year as Committees Director, organizing our large membership into various leadership positions. She is truly eager and excited to remain on the Board, and cannot wait to work further with our philanthropy, City of Dreams, in the 80th year of Spinsters!
Committee Director
Robin McNamara
Robin grew up in chilly Boston, Massachusetts, attending a French bilingual school and playing ice hockey on an all-male team until she was 16—clearly the complete package of beauty, brains and brawns! She stayed close to home at Harvard University, majoring in History. Robin has since lived in San Francisco for three years, greatly enjoying all that the city has to offer. She especially loves Frascati restaurant, wine tasting in Napa, and shopping on Union Street. Between organizing our incredible Holiday Ball last year, and juggling her duties with Spinsters and Junior League, Robin is often very busy, yet incredibly calm—a great asset for our Board of Directors!
